| Quick Container Cargo Acceptance |
The Pre-Receival Advice (PRA) is the electronic replacement for the paper
document known as an Export Receival Advice (ERA). Exporters are now required
to pre-advice export containerised cargo details to Stevedores and Cargo
Terminal Operators (CTO), before the container arrives at the terminal.
The ImpexDocs Pre-Receival Advice software enables the successful transmission
and receipt of PRA messages to stevedores in order to obtain a cargo
acceptance. These Stevedores and CTO's include Patrick, P & O and CSX
Terminal, Adelaide.
This software can be also be integrated with the ImpexDocs Export Documentation
software. Integrating the two software eliminates duplicate data entry,
minimizes human errors and speeds up the documentation process.
One can also use the software as a standalone package without linking it to the
ImpexDocs Documentation software.
| Some of the benefits of using PRA software include: |
 |
Eliminating
poor paper ERA legibility problems |
 |
Standardised
process for both Road and Rail |
 |
Increased
security at the terminal |
 |
Crosschecks
the pre-advice against the Shipping Line bookings to ensure correct cargo is
received for the correct destination and the correct Line operator |
 |
Reduced
truck-processing time at the wharf gate |
 |
Ensures
acceptance through the gate at the wharf prior to arrival; and |
 |
Eliminates the
cost associated with double handling cargo received or rejected with incorrect
information |
Estimates show that the PRA will save up to 10 minutes of processing time at the
terminal gate every time an export container is delivered, equating to better
truck utilization and increased efficiencies for all parties at the
terminal. |
